Beautiful summer rain brings back great childhood memories of running around in the rain with my two older brothers and their buddies from the neighborhood…(yes, I was the pesky little sister hangin’ with the guys). Kids just having simple fun in the warm summer rain and playing in the creek that runs through the neighborhood. I was usually the one digging for the worms and my beautiful Mom…always a lady…wasn’t so thrilled about it. She understood even when I was a little kid, I had to touch the earth and at 64, I’m still playing in the dirt with the worms.

I was working out in the yard and garden this morning when the rain started and I thought, what the hell…it’s a beautiful warm rain so I’ll keep going…and I enjoyed it thoroughly! Not so sure our sweet pup enjoyed it as much, but he hung with his Mama, right at her side anyway. It’s amazing how a beautiful memory turned a bit of a dreary day into something warm and lovely! It’s all about the Loving memories that we create in Life so create a lot of beautiful memories for those you Love. Peace on this beautiful day.

Longevity in the business of health has allowed me to witness the unfortunate decline of the public’s health and most alarming, the increase in children being prescribed pharmaceuticals at younger and younger ages. Talk about tragic but a blatant example when it comes to creating new customers for more profit, pharma has no shame and knows no boundaries.

Yesterday another baby was brought to us that was prescribed antacids; she was only ten months old. This is the third baby in one month all under one year old…prescribed antacids. I respect the parents for seeking a safe approach that made sense to them other than insulting their children with a drug clearly known to have dangerous side effects. Thank goodness for mindful independent thinking people.

Millions of babies are suffering gut/brain/immune issues and when one understands that back in the 60’s, Moms were convinced not to nurse their babies (thanks western medicine) but rather give them soy formula, it’s easy to see why. It certainly was brilliant marketing for the soy industry but devastating for human health because without that precious flora being passed from Mother to child, every generation since has a decline in good bacteria and babies are now paying the price. Probiotics will always be the answer, simple, imperative and powerful for human health. One has to wonder how those of us in health food stores have understood this for decades but the “experts” can’t seem to figure it out.
